The MITHRA3 app is an application that allows users to experience lifestyle authentication.
Lifestyle authentication realizes personal authentication by finding out personal characteristics from daily behavior patterns.
Anyone interested in lifestyle authentication can install the app and have experience with the new authentication method. After a few days of installation, the app will detect the users behavioral patterns, and if they are the same as their usual patterns, the authentication will be accepted.
The Social ICT Research Center at the University of Tokyo is conducting research on "Lifestyle Authentication" as a fourth new authentication method in addition to the conventional authentication methods (knowledge factors, ownership factors, biometric/inherence factors) to realize a more convenient social infrastructure.
By linking this app to various services requiring personal authentication, the app provides a convenient and safe shortcut login and enhanced security for payments.
In early 2021, we are planning two events: (1) a proof of concept for this app on stand-alone, and (2) a proof of concept for collaborating with an external service. We will send out a separate notice to the areas where these events will take place, inviting people to try it out.
This app is featured as a stand-alone application, and enables the enhancement of the value of linked services by using this apps personal authentication technology.
By using this app in these events, users can enjoy a new style of gamification and contribute to solving social issues, as well as obtain a new personal authentication feature. The University of Tokyo will improve the accuracy of the lifestyle authentication method through the use of this app by users.
This app will acquire the users location information to provide a lifestyle authentication function.
